They started as seeds

Dear Lexi,

We are in California for a (working) vacation and yesterday we were at Muir Woods – we admired Redwoods.  I’ll be honest – you whined a fair bit. I carried you a whole lot. But then we found this tree.  We counted.  We talked about how this tree started as a tree.

A tree has physical rings that demonstrate how it has aged – growth happens not all at once but all the time.  We are just like those trees.  Grow.

All my love. Bigger than the trees,
