November 17th: Refinish a built in closet.
I can come off like a princess…I know this, and that happens because, well, I am a princess (just ask my Dad). But I’m also very handy, I can fix things when they are broken, I am strong enough to lift and do things that people don’t think that I can and I get a lot of pleasure in fixing, doing and reclaiming. Just after college I shared and apartment with my girl Manda (LOVE!) and it was an awesome old house that was turned into 5 (maybe 6) apartments. The most incredible part of the house was this walk in built in closet. It was INCREDIBLE. But it really needed to be refinished. Stripped of all the heinous paint, sanded very gently and then stained a delicious cherry color.
I would like to do that. I would like to refinish a built in closet – I’d like to have a home that has character and that could use a little love. Because as much as I do – I have a little more to give. I’ll always have a little more to give.
I think you redid a closet last year didn't you or does installing all that organization not count? I would let you do my closet but it's brand new, so maybe you then I'd just let you mop my kitchen. No, just seeing you soon is so exciting! We can't wait!

Love this. I am in an old, old farmhouse now, and I am trying to restore it to some semblance of what it once was. We'll get there, but it's slow going; I've learned to tile and it's so gratifying seeing work I did with my own two hands!
