November 12th: Have a snack with Oprah

This one proves that this is a dreaming list.  It’s not very realistic – I don’t know Oprah, I don’t even know that anyone I know knows Oprah – we’re deep in Kevin Bacon effect here people.  But the thing is: Oprah inspires me.  She’s a mogul, a powerhouse, she’s imperfect and she owns who she is and the different content she has put out has changed my outlook on life a handful of times.  Not to mention that Martha Beck is a writer in her magazine and I adore Martha Beck.

I’m not sure that I could come up with enough to say for a whole meal, but a snack I could totally handle.  I’ve even thought about where this would be (The Biltmore in Santa Barbara) and what we would have (We’d have really incredible hot cocoa with  nutella dipped vanilla bean biscotti – I would personally make these with the pastry chef at the Biltmore the morning of our snack) and what my first question would be (when you dream, what do you dream about) and then at the end of it I imagine that she invites me to be part of a What I know for sure issue where she asks ordinary people and celebrities and heros What they know for sure.

That’s the dream.  It’s out there….but I really believe that somehow it’s going to happen.  Like everything, I have no idea how – but its not my job to figure out how….its my job to be ready for the opportunity.  Oprah, I’m ready when you are.
